CHILD FRIENDLY RESTAURANTS

The following restaurants do NOT necessarily offer great cuisine or a beautiful ambiance. I selected them because they will have food kids like, the prices are reasonable, or they offer kid-friendly services like crayons, playgrounds, arcades, etc. Some of the restaurants have a website, so just click on the name to have a closer look.

1. Moomba-beach.  Food is not high cuisine, but the ambiance makes up for it. Tables are on the beach, bring a shovel and a bucket and your child can play right next to your table. There is also a playground. Kids-menu available (with crayons to colour on it). Most evenings they have Live music. They offer a reasonable breakfast buffet for $10, the Marriott's is better but Moomba's view beats all the other places. Located right next to the Marriott Surf club on the beach.
2. Marandi. My absolute favorite. Great food. It's more of a romantic place but if you want to go for a romantic dinner and don't want to leave the kids, I would pick this one. Located at the first roundabout when you come from the airport, next to Havanna Beachclub. Tables are in the sand, torches, beautiful!
3. Buccaneer. This fish-restaurant has walls lined with HUGE aquariums; you will see sharks and turtles swim right next to your table. Not everyone is crazy about the food of Buccaneer, I hear some complaints... Located on Palm Beach.
4. Plaza café. Casual restaurant with easy food, again colouring menu for the kids. Located at the Seaport Mall so you can combine this one with some souvenir shopping, or going to the Movies. The souvenir stores are open until 10 pm.
5. Salt&Pepper (tapas)/ Casa Tua (great Italian pizza!) / Fishes&More (fishes and more)/ Tango (steak). These 4 restaurants are located on a little plaza across the street from the Hyatt. There are little souvenir shops that open from 5 pm until 11 pm and there is live music every evening! Nice ambiance.
6. Tulip. This is a little casual restaurant located next to La Cabana on Eagle Beach. The prices are AWESOME; there is a little tiny swimming pool on the property and a playground. Kids menu available.
7. Champions. Located at the Marriott. There is a pool table, some arcades and there are sports on TV. American food, colouring menu for the kids!
8. Benihanas. This is my hangout!!! Sushi lovers you have to try it! Now this one is a bit tricky, your child cannot find any chicken fingers or burgers here. But…they usually LOVE the show the Japanese cook gives right at the table. THE BEST SUSHI ON THE ISLAND. They have just relocated, they are right across the street from the Hyatt now.
9. Alfredo’s. Located at the Adventure Golf/Black Hog Saloon. Italian food. Biggest arcade on the island, batting cages, go-carts, adventure golf and paddle boats. The Adventure golf is not really so adventurous….
10. The Pirates Nest. Seafood/Steak.Located at Manchebo Beach (turn at Alahambra casino). A pirate ship on the beach.
11. Smokey Joeys. Located across from the Playa Linda. For ribs lovers.
12. Amici. Italian ice-cream parlour/coffeehouse/sandwich place. GREAT, also for breakfast or lunch. Good French baguettes!! Located across the street from the Playa Linda.
13. Qué Pasa? Great ambiance, good service, great food, good prices. Located in town close to the Renaissance Mall. International cuisine.
14. Linda's Pancake House. Open from 9 am - 10 pm (closed on Sunday). Now this is a great breakfast! They offer the absolute best Dutch pancakes (whatever you can imagine on a pancake, bacon, apple, pineapple, rum-raisin, cheese, crêpe style). They have great sandwiches too, and pizza!  Prices are unbeatable, very friendly service.  Located next to the gas station on Palm Beach. See MENU.
15. El Gaucho. The best steak on the Island. There is a little kids playroom with some games. I hear it is great! Located in town.
